What is the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art?
MMoCA is an independent, nonprofit organization presenting exhibitions by local, regional, national and international artists. During its hundred year history, MMoCA has been the singular museum in the state of Wisconsin whose mission is exhibition and collection of modern and contemporary art. A permanent collection of more than 5,000 works of art is maintained and enlarged through gifts and purchases. The museum's education department presents programs to increase public understanding and appreciation of modern and contemporary art. The museum's new building will open in April, 2006.
